Natural barrier against viruses and bacteria
ViroStop oral and nasal spray creates a protective film on the mucous membrane of the oral and nasal cavity and physically helps to prevent the penetration of bacteria and viruses into the body.
The main active ingredient of ViroStop is cistus creticus (cretan rockrose).
This unique plant is characterized by a high content of polyphenols.
Polyphenols provide chemical and physical defense, creating a so-called shield to prevent penetration of bacteria and viruses into cells.
Researchers at Herb-pharma AG Switzerland have developed ViroStop spray, a unique combination of natural ingredients which properties make it effective both in prevention and protection against pathogens.
In vitro study
Experts from the Hungarian Complex Medical Centre Déli Clinic in Budapest, led by virologist and clinical microbiologist dr. István Jankovics, in their research mainly focused on the effects of polyphenols of cistus creticus. These polyphenols bind well to the surface of viruses and cells and disrupt their protein envelope, increasing their inhibitory effect. In vitro studies have shown that extracts from cretan cyst are able to prevent the virus from entering the cell.
